James ForgeyJames Forgey (Tom)

After majoring in Acting at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and performing in many plays (Marisol, Mass Appeal, The Cherry Orchard, An Enemy of the People) James decided to shift primarily into film. Appearing in several small independent films (“Four the Roses,” “Chainletters,” “Majestic”) he finally landed a lead role on the pilot for a television show titled “The Grand Strand,” playing the lead guitarist and band drug addict which properly jump-started the path towards his role of Tom in ”The 27 Club.”

James has also been a practiced musician for most of his life, writing his own music as well as writing for film projects. He co-wrote the main song for the band with actor Joe Anderson and wrote the end song “Happy Birthday” with Erica Dunton. James plays guitar, piano, and synthesizer and is the lead singer in his band Sleep Control based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
