William Yelton was born in Wilmington, North Carolina. He began his acting career with extra roles on the television series “One Tree Hill” and “Surface.” In 2006, he landed his first movie role in the film “Hounddog” starring Dakota Fanning. Several months later, he was cast in “The 27 Club,” where he portrays troubled teen rocker Elliot.
In 2007, William was cast in the HBO mini-series “John Adams” as Sam Maverick, and was privileged to meet Tom Hanks during pre-production. He also had a role in the 1930s jazz film “Bolden.” Later in 2007, William was cast as the lead teen male in “Mandie and the Secret Tunnel,” where he worked with former Disney star Dean Jones. The film is scheduled for release in fall 2008.
William lives in Wilmington with his younger sister, Lindsey, and his parents, Larry and Sherri Yelton. He is an eighth grade honor student at Roland-Grise Middle School and serves as Student Body President. William enjoys script writing, producing, and editing his own films.
