Meet the Filmmakers

Alex Markowski, Supervising Sound Editor &
Re-recording Engineer

Alexander Markowski is a 23-year veteran of film and video audio engineering, whose credits include Academy Award, Emmy Award and Sundance award-winning programs.

He transplanted to Wilmington, North Carolina, in 2002 after 17 years at DuArt Film and Video in NYC. Alexander was part time faculty at NYU-SCE in 2000 and is currently a guest artist in the film studies program at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.


His credits include re-recording over 50 narrative feature films, with broadcast credits for Discovery Channel, Lifetime, Bravo, Disney Channel, The Learning Channel, WE, DIY, HBO, CBS, NBC, and PBS.

Alexander continues to work independently inside North Star Sound as ADR mixer for the CW’s “One Tree Hill.” “North Carolina is a place where I can pursue my passions, raise my family, work creatively and teach without the pressures of my former city life.”
